Team Structure

Real Skills is essentially a student-lead and student-run organisation.
Over the course of 4 years, we have seen close to one hundred incredible individuals volunteer their time to provide high quality professional development services to our students and our industry partners.
As of 2020, our student-run operations team is at 50-strong, across all of our divisions. This number is only expected to continue growing as our operations continue to expand.

OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM

With the growing size of our operations team, we are constantly bringing senior and junior professionals to assist Real Skills’ strategic direction, while supporting our operation operations with resources and external advice.

Business Development

Our Business Development team have been working closely with our Directors to strategise and lead the implementation of brand new initiatives closely tied into RSE’s 3 year strategy plan.

Commitment Expectations

  • 5-8 hours per week outside of university/working times (including weekends)
  • Monthly face-to-face meetings
  • Weekly divisional meetings (either online or in-person)
  • Minimum tenure of 6 months, with opportunity to switch divisions thereafter

Events Coordinator
Real Skills is looking for an Events Coordinator to coordinate all of RSE’s workshops which are held throughout the year.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Undertaking relevant background research to create and update RSE’s professional development workshop content
  • Planning workshops, which includes negotiating with vendors, and scheduling speakers 
  • Presenting and facilitating RSE workshops 
  • Produce reports evaluating the success of each event and propose improvements

Programs Coordinator
Real Skills is looking for a Programs Coordinator to organise and execute our flagship program and major services.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ideating new programs and ideas to enhance and expand Real Skills’s existing repertoire
  • Facilitating and/or presenting workshops throughout our programs
  • Liaising and maintaining relationships with guest speakers and project partners of various companies
  • Executing administrative duties such as booking venues, budgeting and conducting interviews

Desirable Attributes

  • Able to dedicate one’s time to the planning and running of a program and work conscientiously towards deadlines

Partnerships Coordinator
Real Skills is looking for a Partnerships Coordinator to coordinate our
partnership and collaboration opportunities.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing strong relationships within industry to maintain a pool of potential mentors and partner companies
  • Liaising with our industry connections to gather data for our product development.
  • Representing Real Skills at networking events for mentor and partner acquisition

Marketing Strategy Coordinator
Real Skills Education is looking for a Marketing Strategist Coordinator to develop and coordinate RSE’s marketing strategy.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating marketing activities to grow awareness for RSE’s brand, events and programs.
  • Collaborating with other coordinators to produce marketing content for RSE’s student base and industry partners.
  • Nurturing engagement and activity in community groups via primary channels including: Facebook, LinkedIn, Newsletters, Instagram and RSE’s website.

Design/Multimedia Coordinator
Real Skills is looking for a Design/Multimedia Coordinator to coordinate all of RSE’s design and multimedia activities.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and design creative video/interactive content for print, exhibition, website, advertisements, and social media.
  • Collaborate with marketing and public relations teams to determine appropriate visual, textual and animated elements of projects.

Desirable Attributes

  • Work with other teammates to share ideas and improve each other’s work.
  • Proactive learner and willing to upskill in design, photograhy and video editing.
  • Exceptional creative flair and an innovative approach to all design projects.

Preferred Skills

  • High attention to detail and excellent personal communication skills.

Human Resources Coordinator
Real Skills is looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to coordinate and assist in our administrative duties and implementation of key team-wide training and culture building initiatives.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Organising team resources and maintaining internal documentation
  • Planning and executing internal meetings and training sessions
  • Ensuring a supportive, engaging working environment and cultivating a strong team culture

Developer Team

Developers
Real Skills is looking for full-stack developers to design, implement and test technical solutions to improve organisational operations.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Consulting and reviewing business, functional and technical requirements in order to create design documents.
  • Designing, developing and testing technical solutions such as web services and GUI.
  • Troubleshooting web applications or websites when problems/bugs are encountered
  • Providing consistent feedback on project progress directly to the operations team.

Desirable Attributes

  • Independent and curious mindset with the ability to learn new skills quickly.
  • Proven rapid prototyping abilities and demonstrable experience working on technical projects
  • Resourceful in exploring and testing different options to solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to both internal and external stakeholders.
